The Fae

Fae are one of the many playable races within TLoN. Based predominantly off of Celtic mythology, the fae are a varied race with plenty of alternate sub-race 'kits' available and, as such, there are no shared distinguishing features amongst the fae. Players who choose not to select one of these 'kits' are defaulted to a Generic Fae race.

All fae, regardless of sub-race, suffer from the touch of iron or predominantly iron-alloys. Technologically, this hinders the fae greatly, taking from them the ability to use most machines, melee weaponry and even armour. Even having iron in their possession causes fae discomfort, although not pain. Because of this, most fae players become magic-users.

A solution, brought about by The Bazaar, was a metal ore known as 'Moonstone', which could be smelted and then replace iron in alloy creation. Of course, with such a high demand for this ore from the fae community, it was quickly labelled a luxery good and jealously monopolized by the guild.

Fae Features and Accessories:
All fae must take Features and Accessories at level two to reflect the strong mystical bond the fae keep with the spirit world. For most fae, this would be slight, purely cosmetic hovering and a translucent facade. It is possible to instead be gifted with creeper vines growing along their skin or other minor effects at the GM's discretion.

New fae players begin in the fae-dominated kingdom of Tir-Nan-Og.

Fae: Generic

Generic fae characters are the most human-like of the fae and are sometimes known as 'Changelings' for their human pallour, as compared with the violet, green and blue flesh-tones of other fae races. All changelings have either jet black or vibrant blonde hair, without exception. Physically, they tend to be short and thin, agile, and sometimes sneaky.

Fae: Frost Pixie

Frost pixie models in TLoN have pale blue flesh-tones and dark hair. While gifted with the ability to alter temperature slightly to their favour (colder) and tolerate icy regions, they suffer when in extremely hot areas, like deserts, volcanic regions and some jungles.

Fae: Nymph

Nymphs in TLoN epitomize the poisonous attributes of some of nature's perilous beauties. Naturally highly attractive and, typically, afflicted with unwanted admirers, nymphs are bestowed with a defensive paralyzation ability. By making eye contact, the nymph may seek to disable a target for a limited amount of time.

Fae: Sidhe

In TLoN, the most noble of the fae are the Sidhe. Due to their strict honour codes, which inflict physical harm when broken, most Sidhe PCs tend to be valiant knights, loyal retainers, benevolent leaders or, for roleplayers exploring a theme, tragic heroes. Sidhe models tend to be tall, thin and carry in a regal manner. They are gifted with a superhuman level to all their senses, save that of scent. As this is a constant ability, Sidhe are greatly aggravated by strong sensations.
